DO NOT TRAVEL WITHOUT READING THIS FIRST: Zika
virus infection appears to be associated with serious birth defects. The
CDC recommends that women trying to conceive wait 2 months and that men wait
6 months to conceive, after being infected by the Zika
virus. Since confirming Zika virus infection
may not be possible, TULSA FERTILITY CENTER is recommending against travel
to Zika infested areas for all patients who are
considering conception and for pregnant women and their partners.
Current Zika travel advisories can be found on the
CDC website - http://www.cdc.gov/zika/ . ZIKA
TRAVEL ADVISORIES MAY EXTEND TO THE SOUTHERN UNITED STATES THIS SUMMER.
TULSA FERTILITY CENTER is advising all of our patients to check the CDC site
before any travel. If you do travel to a Zika
infested area, you should not conceive or have unprotected intercourse for 2
to 6 months or more depending upon your particular situation – please
review with TULSA FERTILITY CENTER.
